Your Mission Deserves to Be Heard.
Start by Listening.
A 5-week live virtual program for nonprofit leaders, mission-driven founders, and community organization teams who want to build real relationships - not just deliver a pitch.
Reserve Your Spot See the CurriculumYou Have a Powerful Mission.
But You Are Talking When You Should Be Listening.
At festivals, community events, funder meetings, and partnership conversations, most mission-driven organizations do the same thing: they lead with their story. They talk about what they do, how they started, and why it matters - before they have any idea what the person in front of them actually cares about.
The result? People nod politely and move on. Partnerships that could have been never materialize. Funders who might have given walk away uninspired. And the team - especially younger members - feels uncomfortable and unsure of themselves.
This is not a passion problem. It is a methodology problem. And it is completely fixable.
Built for People Whose Work Matters
If your organization depends on relationships - with funders, partners, community members, or collaborators - this program was built for you.
Nonprofit Leaders
You need funders, partners, and community champions. This gives you a framework for every conversation that builds trust instead of just requesting it.
Mission-Driven Founders
You are building something that serves a community. Learn how to surface what that community actually needs - and communicate your value in their language.
Community Organization Teams
Your team is out in the community every week. Give them a repeatable way to start conversations that open doors instead of closing them.
Arts and Education Programs
You have something extraordinary to offer. The people you meet at festivals, events, and community gatherings could become your biggest supporters - if the conversation starts right.
What Most Organizations Do.
What You Will Do Instead.
Without This Program
- Opens with a pitch about the organization
- Talks about programs before knowing what the other person needs
- Follows up with "just wanted to check in"
- Treats every conversation as a transaction
- Misses the partnership hiding inside the prospect
- Team feels awkward and unsure in outreach situations
After This Program
- Opens with genuine curiosity about the other person
- Listens first and connects their needs to your mission
- Follows up with something specific and valuable
- Builds relationships that compound over time
- Identifies partnership opportunities that others miss
- Team feels confident and natural in any outreach setting
5 Weeks to Mission-Driven Outreach
Each week combines a live Zoom session with real fieldwork applied to actual conversations in your organization. You leave every session with something you can use the next day.
Why Curiosity Is Your Competitive Advantage
Why leading with your story is costing you relationships - and what to do instead. Introduction to customer discovery as a relationship-building methodology. Defining your mission in terms that resonate with the people you need to reach.
The Art of the Discovery Conversation
How to structure a conversation that makes people feel heard. Conducting your first real discovery conversations with funders, partners, or community members. Surfacing insight from what you hear - including what surprises you.
Showing Up Prepared and Relevant
How to research someone before a conversation. Crafting your story so it connects to what they care about. Building an outreach approach that feels human - for events, LinkedIn, email, and warm introductions.
Staying Visible and Moving Things Forward
How to stay in touch in a way that adds value instead of noise. Recognizing when someone is ready to move forward. How to transition from relationship to real conversation without the awkward pitch.
Turning Conversations Into Partnerships
Synthesizing what you learned from your discovery conversations. Identifying where mutual value and partnership opportunity exists. Drafting your Partnership One-Pager capstone. Building your 90-day outreach action plan.
You Earn It. You Own It.
To earn the Mission-Driven Outreach Certificate, participants submit a Partnership One-Pager based on at least one real discovery conversation conducted during the program. Your capstone is not a test. It is evidence that you can do the work.
The one-pager documents the person or organization you engaged, what you learned about their priorities, where mutual value or alignment exists, and a proposed next step. It is a credential built on real conversations - not coursework.
"Since working with Randy, I have gained so much insight into how to bridge the gap between my vision and speaking the language of funders and partners who want to make a difference. I've become more confident - and I now see that I can be entrepreneurial too."Alimatu Dimonekene MBE - Founder, A Girl At A Time | UK and Sierra Leone
Built Around Real Conversations
Every skill is practiced on real contacts and real conversations during the program - not hypotheticals. You do not graduate with theory. You graduate with a system and a proven track record of using it.
