14Dayz
14Dayz is a simple and user-friendly time-tracking software company in the Netherlands. It has a software platform (SaaS) that can be used to track time and expenses - for billing and operational results.
Two major challenges faced the company: (1) changes in technology since the company’s inception; and (2) the passing of the company founder. When the company was established in 2005, it was a technology leader. In 2020, the founder’s son took over the business - keeping his father’s legacy alive - and taking steps to grow the company and its user base.
A customer discovery process was developed and implemented - interviewing new and established users for their insights and feedback - covering their pain points, needs and business requirements. Conversations included requests for new features, user experience changes, navigation and consulting services and support.
As a result of 20+ interviews, the company discovered different value propositions for different customer segments. It was able to reposition itself and develop new messaging. A business case was developed for investing in the provision of new features and functionality to keep current customers and reach new customer segments in small and medium-sized enterprises.
